Guided Hiking Tour Cooley and the Mourne Mountains

Hiking Tour in Ireland on Slieve Foye above Carlingford
Descending Slieve Foye into Carlingford on the Cooley Peninsula

This guided walking tour is on the border region with Northern Ireland. It comprised of the Cooley Peninsula in the Republic of Ireland and the Mourne Mountains across Carlingford Lough in Northern Ireland.

We have overlooked this prime walking and tourism region for too long. Walking Holiday Ireland is the first operator in Ireland’s Ancient East to provided walking tours in this stunning location.

This guided walking Tour includes all the highlights and most scenic hiking routes. It is also in the heartland of Ireland’s most famous legends and mythology; Queen Maebhe and the brown bull of Cooley and Cuchulain.

You will also visit the medieval village of Carlingford which has seen Vikings, Norman Kings and armies on its shore. It still boasts many interesting archaeological sites and buildings from as early as the 12th century. Carlingford is also known as the Oyster Capital of Ireland with many outstanding seafood restaurants boasting this delicacy.

As this region lies halfway between Dublin and Belfast you have three airports to choose from and why not stay a few days longer to visit either or indeed both cities!

This guided walking Tour will sell out soon so book quickly to avoid disappointment!
